Ravana returned to Lanka dissuaded by Maricha aborting his plan to kidnap Sita. But he could not escape from what he was destined to. 
                                              His sister Surpanakha wanted to somehow provoke him to kill both Rama and Lakshmana who had insulted , maimed and inflicted her. 
                                             She tried to arouse vengeance in his mind against the princes. She praised about the mind blogging beauty of Sita to kindle his desire to possess her as his wife by killing the two princes. Ravana now forgot all that was told to him by Maricha. 
                                    His burning desire to abduct Sita made him restless. The thoughts of striking beauty of Sita disturbed his mind. So he once again approached Maricha seeking his help. 
                                           Maricha several ways tried to back out from his plan harmful to entire Rakshasa race. However unfortunately all his words fell into deaf ears. Ravana insisted Maricha to help him to fulfill his plan. Maricha had no other way but to obey the orders of his king. Ravana explained the procedure to be followed by Maricha. He was asked to take the form of a beautiful golden deer with silver spots casting a spell on all eyes and romp in front of Sita near Rama’s Asharam at Panchavati.
